Gilbert W. Gordon has been a noted trial and appellate lawyer
for over 25 years, handling a wide variety of complex business
litigation matters, ranging from disputes over non-compete
and trade secret restrictions to partnership and corporate
disputes and fraudulent accounting and securities actions.
He also represents both doctors and plaintiffs in medical
malpractice and other professional liability disputes, as
well as professional athletes in workers' compensation and
career-ending injury matters. Gilbert Gordon is an attorney
that represents both plaintiffs and defendants in State and
Federal trial and Appellate courts. He was lead counsel in
the United States Supreme Court, representing millions of
American Airlines flyers in one of the largest class actions
ever filed. Mr. Gordon has also worn the other hat and successfully
defended many companies sued in class actions. Gil Gordon
has tried hundreds of jury and bench trials to verdict and
has argued cases in venues as diverse as the Illinois Supreme
Court and the Supreme Court of Alaska.
Gil Gordon has repeatedly received
an AV rating under the Martindale Hubbell lawyer rating system.
An AV rating means that his attorney peers have recognized
him with their highest rating for legal ability and ethical
standards. Additionally, Gil Gordon has also been profiled
many times in Chicago Magazine as being voted by his peers
as being a “super lawyer” among the top 5% of
lawyers in the State of Illinois.
Gilbert Gordon has been a long-standing
member of a National panel of attorneys appointed by the NFL
Players Association and also the National Hockey League Players
Association. He has been an invited lecturer before the Association
of Trial Lawyers of America, the American Bar Association
and the NFL Players Association. His accomplishments were
profiled in Chicago Lawyer Magazine, April 1999.
Gil was head of litigation at Marks, Marks and Kaplan, Ltd.
from 1986-2006, when he helped found Gordon & Rappold
LLC.
